''Just a quick note to tell you how much I enjoyed this Viking display at Greyfriars Church at Winterville last year. I loved the interactive nature of the piece and as I said to my kids, I learned more about the Vikings through that piece, than I learned about them through school. The weight of the Viking helmet on my head and how it felt around my face and imagining the discomfort of it in battle. Additionally, looking at how wool was made, how wood was turned in that period and what was expected of children as they grew to adult hood. The people, dressed as Vikings, both adults and children were so informative – honestly, it really had an impact on me. I believe that it would be very beneficial for more school children to see this, as it really put a lot of primary school learning into perspective for me – well done!
