A tour where the sight, sounds and smells of typical fair day on Ballybricken in the early 1900′s are brought to life. Children are given the opportunity to dress in the appropriate animal bib as they circle the green to collect all the animals for the fair. Along the route historical facts and the social history of the time is explored. This tour is suitable and age appropriate for 3rd & 4th class children. It begins at the bandstand on Ballybricken and finishes at the Bull Post.
Stops covered include: Economic conditions of 1900s, history of the Fair, Boy Soldier,The Yellow Road, Morgan Street, Wellington Street, Jail Street, Patrick’s Street, Mayor’s Walk, Ballybricken Church and Green Street.
